Our Director In UkraineUkrainian, born and raised in a family of Baptist preachers in the Russian-speaking eastern part of Ukraine during the communist regime of the USSR. From childhood, he experienced the oppression of evangelical believers by the communists.
In 1993, after the collapse of the USSR, he moved to Russia for preaching ministry, where he spent 5 years founding a new church. After serving in Russia, he returned to eastern Ukraine, where until 2013 he served as the head of a Christian organization and continued his preaching ministry. Since 2014, the area of eastern Ukraine where he served was occupied by Russia. |
In 1998, we began a Medical Clinic Ministry, offering vital services to families & individuals within smaller towns & villages. Since 1998, DMI has delivered over $900,000 worth of medication to Ukraine, as well as providing $120,000 to the Medical Ministry teams in order for them to purchase local medicines throughout Ukraine.
Alongside our Medical Ministry, we have also provided much needed Humanitarian Aid by distributing food & clothing to those in need. |
Drug & Alcohol Rehabilitation Center
Maxim Mamakin is a pastor and leader in the Makariv area, just north of Kiev. He pastors a church and also has established rehab centers for men and women. Before the 2019 invasion there were 6 centers. Three for men and three for women. The goal of these centers is to help drug addicts and alcholics get cleaned and then go back into society to help others. All of those centers were destroyed during the invasion. Since then DMI has help build two new centers; one for men and one for women. During the years of ministry many men and women have become strong Christians and are now in the mission field themselves. Many of them are pastors serving with the same passion as Max.

Sergei is a pastor in the city of Kharkiv. When the occupation came in Eastern Ukraine in 2014 many people fled to Ukraine proper. They would cross the border from Russia into Ukraine about 40 miles from Kharkiv. They would then come to the church and seek assistance. Thousands were aided since 2014 to present. After the invasion in 2019 the city of Kharkiv became one of the main targets for missiles and rockets. Outlying villages were cut off from supplies. Sergei and his team of 98 volunteers have served these communities. They carry supplies of food, water, clothes as well as all other needs. He continues this ministry even under the possibility of death.

Our Mission Director Sasha Malov has a heart for people throughout Ukraine. After his move to Kiev in 2013, and as the Russian occupation caused us to shift our ministry focus towards Kiev in 2014, Sasha has begun to lead our teams in a new direction. While we are still serving pastors, churches, and communities, since the invasion, his travels have been limited. He focuses his attention on aiding us in directing the support of DMI towards Max and Sergei, but also aiding his own community. He aids many in getting supplies they need in order to survive. He and Tanya have such a heart for helping those in need.
